For the past several weeks I’ve been putting a great deal of effort into experimenting with the possibilities of the Law of Attraction, attempting to really grasp onto the right mindset and way of thinking in order for the ‘Law’ to start working for me. For those who might be reading about the ‘Law of Attraction’ for the first time, the Law of Attraction is essentially a concept that says whatever you focus on, grows, and whatever you’re thinking about becomes manifest. Also see First Experiences on the Law of Attraction.

One concept of the Law of Attraction is that when you hold an intention that you’re hoping to become manifest, you should always hold it with the strongest amount of emotion possible. Well, lately, I’m not a guy who holds a whole lot of strong emotions about anything at all, other than being mostly content for where I already am. The concept of gratitude is also very important, however, and when we speak of emotion, we are definitely not talking at all about negative emotion. You always want to make sure that it is the best feelings possible, and some have even said that perhaps the real trick to bringing abundance to your life is simply just finding a way to feel good about life, all the time, or as much as possible. Optimism, and putting a genuine positive spin on what it is you’re focusing on can be great aids in seeing your intentions manifest in your reality.

Thinking about this, I got a bit of a taste of what having a large amount of money would feel like, and rather than trying to snuff down that intense emotion or “humble” myself from the excitement of it, I had a feeling that kind of said wow, this is really great!. I began to meditate on that feeling, and visualizing what it would be like to see my intention of $100,000 over the course of next year come into my hands, noticing and owning what the feeling was like, savoring the sensation of it, and holding a great deal of gratefulness over the small successes I’ve already had.

Shortly afterward, I awoke the next day and for some reason, didn’t really feel like bothering with checking the sales of the Dirty Mechanism store. Instead, I just went on with other things in my day. When I checked the sales that evening, I suddenly saw a HUGE jump. On average, I’ve been getting about one item sold per day, but that night I saw it with my own eyes – five items sold in a single day! The next day it happened again, another five items! I continued the visualization, and felt overwhelmed with a strange joy and excitement from the small success I had just witnessed. I couldn’t help but ask, Could holding this idea of the Law of Attraction finally be paying off?. For the third day in a row I saw results, I sold EIGHT items that day, earning over $55.00 in effortless income that I didn’t even have to work for at all!

As exciting as it all is, I hold a certain amount of skepticism carrying on with this philosophy. While it is great that I saw such a dramatic increase in sales since gaining a better understanding of what it would feel like to be wealthy, or at least, the initial feeling, it could have been attributed to a lot of other factors. For one thing, most of the sales are on a single item, perhaps that item is just a really good selling item. For another thing, it is the first half of December, perhaps the highest point of the holiday commercial rush. Yet, another point of this way of thinking highlights another way of looking at those other factors. If all reality is entirely subjectively manifested, that would mean those particular factors are also manifestations, or projections, of what I myself created. If I hold the belief that my sales can only be great for potentially commercial seasons, then certainly I’d be limiting myself. I will choose not to do this. And so what if it’s only a single item that is selling really well? Did I ask the universe to make sure it was a variety of items sold to generate my income? No! I didn’t even care how that $100,000 was going to begin, all I cared about was that it would happen some way that was not potentially harmful to others.

Whether this is the Law of Attraction working or not, I think just having the correct mindset and outlook on any given situation is far more dramatically important than any of us truly realize.
