I know I'm commenting on an old post, but you popped up first on the Google search. These comments are similar to your article, more of a reference for a state of mind than a how-to. I would split the passion under "work" and "play" where the work model is passion against a past major failure and play is passion towards a future success. I liked your goal orientation as a factor of passion, it helps a lot to stay focused. But passion is outside of balance. It is on the way to control. If we change your word intensity for energy then we get insight into a measurable ingredient. It is both physical and emotional energy and these get eaten and used up with control, balance, maintenance, safety, union. So you get passion when it is a unique experience(or frame of mind or excess of energy and not safe),singular(passion is alone, self serving and intensified by outside factors), and present-on the way to fulfillment of self while forgetting self (you cant watch the game while you play it). I'm sure there is more, but that's all my new connections.

Harry,

It seems that often times that is typically the case. I kind of feel like kids should simply pick something and go with it rather than worrying too much about whether or not they've made the right choice. You can always shift directions later. Make some choices and options for yourself and then pick the one you think would make the most sense financially, and something that you'd not hate. I know it may not seem like it to some, but college is only the very beginning of a very long journey.
