Public Experiment #1 - Using the Law of Attraction :: Part 4
Written by Scott Lee - Released May 6th, 2007<< Read part 1, part 2, part 3.
Since I first set out to begin my experiments using the Law of Attraction in January of this year, a lot has come to pass. In only 5 months, I have started making more money, I have laid the foundations for future successful businesses, I have created positive changes in myself both mentally and physically, I have met lots of new people, been into the inner heart and part of the multi-level marketing business world of downtown Houston, Texas, expanded my awareness of finance and money making strategies, done a fair bit of marketing research, started a new website, have designed over 20 new t-shirts, and have written over 35 new articles.
Oddly enough, it’s safe to say that my work has only just begun.
There is no doubt that since I have been focused on obtaining what I want every single day, there are a number of personal transformations that have taken place. As I continue to expand upon what it is I currently desire, this entire thing first started off being about money. But then, over time, I came to realize that money was not at all the main concern.
In order for you to truly manifest something, you need to determine if the thing you’re asking for is what you truly want. For those who have seen The Secret, this is one of the things they mention, but do not give a whole lot of emphasis to. Well, let me just say - it should definitely be emphasized more thoroughly. My first goal was to earn $100,000 a year. I have achieved only a fraction of that goal thus far. Let us examine how that goal is now evolving, and what other areas of my life I am currently focusing on. Listing them off in no particular order, and money included:
- Money - money is still important to me, there is no doubt about that. It is still important to obtain a higher amount of income, but this time - I am not wanting it for simple reasons of personal excess, or even for non-personal charity. Money is important to me now for a big reason of expressing my creative ideas, and to create artwork in all different mediums.
- Music - To build upon my abilities as a musician is something I have taken up as another interest in the background, possibly more so than before. My ideas on music are evolving. I have run out of most of my fuel to do songs that are negatively oriented. Much of it in the future will turn from angry and hurt over past relationships and things of that nature to turning into a more creative, intellectual feel.
- Improved Friendships - For a while in my life I had a strong desire to have a quality romantic relationship, and I think after a long time I have obtained that, though it certainly is not perfect. Friends have become the more important area of my social relationships. After the past 5-7 years, I have had the same set of close friends. Lately I have been meeting a lot more new people with common interests and have been experimenting with integrating them within my current group.
- Physical Fitness - While I openly confess there is more that I could be doing on this front, it has become a higher priority for me. Even though I have not ever been overweight in my life, I could afford to lose 10 pounds, or at least exchange that 10 pounds for fat to muscle mass and a more toned body. Much of the work has been aerobic and endurance related. And for those wondering, I have moved on past those workout videos I mentioned before.
- Credibility and Audience - I think over time the past several months I have gained, without even having time to talk to much of anybody, a surprising amount of readers, listeners, and even some watchers. My reputation has been getting a little bit better. After all, I now am at least known, mostly positively(fortunately), and before I was completely unknown. This is outstanding, because it means that to at least a few, if not the thousands that read these articles, I am making a major difference in their lives. My words are becoming a part of others, and that is one of the most amazing feelings in the world.
While the focus has certainly expanded, the daily activities have changed little, though it is small tweaks to your daily activity that can make the difference. The difference between failure and success can be extremely subtle, and I believe that I am definitely beginning to make subtle changes that will allow me to ascend higher.
I think it is very possible that the long term results before I achieve 100% actualization in all of these areas could be a very long time. At the current moment, I would say that where the bulk of the work is actually on my own personal development, I would place my own non-scientific guesstimate of where I am at about 24% of my original goals in life, not just that I have had since starting this in January, but also for the past year or so.
Under the most common perceptions of LoA, my intentions should instantly manifest if I am ready, or theoretically it simply says that they could. But what am I not ready for? Lately I have been learning so much about both people, and about the real world. Perhaps when my lessons are through, I will have that life I have been dreaming of. Perhaps when my lessons are through, that library of creative content full of articles, books, music, and film will be there, with my beautiful relationships and dollars in the bank. Oh, what a journey.
