Two Kinds of Reality and the Law of Attraction
Written by Scott Lee - Released January 17th, 2007In thinking about the nature of the universe as I often do, I have begun to contemplate the differences between the different interpretations of reality. What it has come down to is a common break down of how we understand reality in two different ways. One, there is the objective model, which says that outside the bounds of our perception and awareness there is a constant deterministic machine of scientific laws that constantly are real whether or not we are aware of them. Then, there is the subjective model of reality, which says that we create the reality around us based on what we interpret of our own perspective. Sound simple enough? Well, truthfully, those two models have just been summed up in two different sentences.
The big issue, though, is what we can do under these two different models. One of them is unlimited and limitless, where as the other is limited by the bounds of the laws of the universe…or is it?
Then we come to the idea of the Law of Attraction. The Law of Attraction is a concept that says that like attracts like, that whatever you reinforce you will get more of, that whatever you focus on grows. If someone is focused on flying to the moon, they’re much more likely to end up being able to fly to the moon at some point than someone who is not at all focused on the moon. The Law of Attraction is interesting, because different people do have different interpretations of it, but I think all of these interpretations generally have a common theme around them of limitless possibilities under the bounds of them.
From this point on, I will refer to the Law of Attraction as LoA. If everyone in the world knew about LoA, then the entire world population would be able to have all the wealth they needed, be it food, money, relationships, their spiritual fulfillment and so on. It has been said that “the universe will rearrange itself,” when you are focusing on your intentions. But again, different people have different interpretations of this. Some subscribe to the idea that the LoA would only operate under the bounds of a subjective universe. What if there is a single bar of gold, and two people are running for the same bar of gold? They might both be focusing on obtaining the bar of gold for themselves, but both of them cannot have the same gold bar when there is only one gold bar, can they? But perhaps this is too limited a form of thinking, others might argue. Maybe we should not worry about that one gold bar, because another gold bar can always be made somehow.
Under the terms of subjective reality, this would say that the gold bar has the ability to recreate itself, or at least, there is the possibility, always, unwaveringly, that there can be another gold bar created into existence, all based on the terms of some consciousness or awareness that observes it. Objective reality would say that there can only be one gold bar if there really is only one gold bar, nothing will change that.
Yet, in my own personal experience I cannot currently thinking of anything that actually would fully represent a situation such as the example I have just described. The only real example I can think of is the example of my own personal story. During a time during my years in intermediate school I became very interested in a very small, select group of kids attending the school, around 60 or so people. I became so interested in the events that were occurring with these people I actually charted out their names, and connected the names with lines for each social connection among the group. After studying this chart and thinking about just the events, rumors, and sayings that were circulating around the school, I managed to come up with a relative basis as to when another event in the ’social cycle’ was about to take place.
I wrote about this whole experience in the book I’ve written, The Island of Yellow, and throughout the story of this entire thing the common pattern that I would experience is one of living my day-to-day life with seeming no universal direction or purpose, then having a premonition, then seeing an event, then obsessing over the process of why and how it all happened, and then repeat. As the book goes on throughout its pages, the pattern begins happening more and more frequently, where I keep getting more premonitions, followed by more events.
There are a few things that people can claim were happening. Some people would call this an experience of ESP(extra sensory perception), other people might just call it clairvoyance. Or, some people might consider it highly attuned intuition. I think intuition, especially under an objective model of reality, would have been the more acceptable answer. Because I was not having feelings over anything specific, so it was not entirely prophetic in nature, it was simply feelings that were occurring during a common cycle, and it was not exactly like I was getting these feelings and emotions from nothing - there was a substantial amount of information from which I could draw my conclusions.
So whether you’re talking about objective reality or subjective reality, you can say that for either model of interpretation, the Law of Attraction was working. I would feel an event about to happen, and then it certainly would. I would feel it a lot more often, and events would happen a lot more often. Psychologists often hear about these sorts of experiences and a common label they put on it is an idea called selective interpretation, which says that I simply remembered all of the experiences I had where an event followed a feeling and forgot about all of the ones that did not. The only problem with tacking on the selective interpretation solution to my experience is that most of the time the experience was taking place - I was writing the book and documenting my thoughts as the entire thing was occurring. Maybe I would forget to write things down or forget certain things within minutes, I don’t know how you could explain that one by labeling it with selective interpretation…
But moving onto it and looking at it another way - we could view this under the two different models very easily. For one thing, Law of Attraction seems to lean toward the construction of a subjective reality anyway, but for all intensive purposes we could also apply it to operating within what many consider to be the more acceptable objective reality. The science that supposedly drives the LoA is that thoughts can be measured, that all matter gives out a vibrational energy, and that similar forms of energy are drawn to each other. It is possible that the Law of Attraction could work under objective reality barriers and boundaries, even though many think that it may not.
Another important thing to remember about positive thinking and LoA is that as much as you can focus on what you want, there is still all of the subconscious activity that is taking place below your awareness thinking of, and considering, the less than desirable possibilities and imagery. Part of the power of your mind is its ability to dream, and your dreams will not reflect everything that you love simply because you tell them to - or at least, they will not reflect that when you’re not looking at them. Your mind considers the negative too, even if you have 98 positive thoughts for every 2 negative, you still have some negative thought. All that being said, if we were to take the supposed accomplishments of a guy like Jesus literally, then we might also believe that everything he did was possible also, by somehow vanquishing all limiting belief.
A common problem with the LoA is that if you do not believe in the LoA, then the LoA will not work for you because you attracting for it not to work. Many would assume this to be a presumption that you should be given no choice, in the bounds of your unlimited success, other than to follow with an ignorant blind faith the entire principle. But why hold onto that belief? Law of Attraction is based on thought, feeling, and belief. If you are taking the time to test the Law of Attraction under your own terms, then simply hold the belief that the LoA is always working, regardless of your belief for it to work. It can work, whether you believe it or not. In the course of teaching people how to read a more effective way, this is commonly the doctrine I subscribe to - a powerful method that is often painfully simple in its process does not have to be believed in in order for it to work successfully. A light switch will turn on if you flip the switch - you do not have to believe that it will.
Whether you believe in a subjective or an objective reality, my final conclusion is that the Law of Attraction can operate under both of these models. But perhaps the best thing to remember is that with this entire belief system, you do not actually have to subscribe to a concept of blind faith - you simply need to hold that this mindset is going to get you further than having the opposite of it, or quite possibly anything else that is even remotely less in its quantity of absoluteness.

I recently began studing the laws of attractions, it has continued to amaze me at its depts into the human soul. This is my reason for further study, into my own situation.
I sell Travel on the Internet through my website. It does not require a lot of my time, but the protal does require people book themselves. But for me more recently so much comes across my desk that I am constantly pulled in many directions all at once.
I was approached by a friend who now markets 30 year Student Loans, giving a Student a 30 year payment plan no credit check or anything everyone qualifies. I thought about this concept deeply and wondered if this law of attraction is pulling me into helping students.
At this time I am still not sure? I am still in wonder and still standing still within myself. I do however have the strong feeling wealth is coming my way. I always attract money that is not the issue, the real issue is holding infinate wealth on a residual basis.
I will continue in this law of attraction for my life for the next 30 days I am looking around for a blog to get my story started.
thank you,
ar
